Lagar do Clavijo is a family run company, founded in 2014, which specialises in producing the most exclusive spice in the World. Lagar do Clavijo is situated in the Centre-East of Portugal in the middle of a cork oak (Quercus suber) plantation, which gives this fine saffron exceptional character.

Lagar do Clavijo started exploring the possibilities of producing saffron, because of the long Portuguese tradition with this exceptional spice and so after a few years of studying, training and experimentation, Lagar do Clavijo combined all the data to start producing rich and intense saffron.
Saffron is a very delicate spice, so in order to produce this unique spice, 
Lagar do Clavijo had to reintroduce old techniques and innovate in order to capture all the correct elements.

When thriving for such perfection, Lagar do Clavijo will never compromise the quality of our saffron, in fact, the aim is to be known as a producer of one of the best saffron in the world.

With all this in mind Lagar do Clavijo is honoured to be the first Portuguese company to produce the real (Crocus Sativus) saffron with exquisite attention to detail and above all to quality.
